The EduTrust Certification Scheme (EduTrust) is an educational program organized by CPE for Private Educational Institutions (PEI) in Singapore. It aims to differentiate between private schools that are able to consistently maintain high quality standards during the delivery of educational services and make continuous improvements that lead to positive outcomes for students.

Criteria for EduTrust Certification

There are several criteria for the EduTrust certification system. Some of them are listed below:

  • Management’s Commitment and Responsibility: This criterion tells how PEI demonstrates its commitment to achieving its vision and how PEI is able to take some strategic planning.
  • Corporate Governance and Administration: This criterion examines how PEI achieves efficiency and effectiveness in managing operations and administrative resources, external partnerships, corporate governance, communication processes, information management and confidentiality, as well as feedback and complaints to improve service delivery.
  • External recruiters: This criterion examines how PEI effectively selects, manages and evaluates its local and overseas external recruiters. This is done to ensure that agents provide quality services to prospective students and do not engage in wrong and unethical practices.

How does this certification process work?

After reviewing the submitted documents, the CPE will contact the PEI management officer to conduct an on-site assessment.

During the site evaluation, the evaluator will:

  • Interviewing leadership team members, study and examination board members, staff and students
  • Conduct field visits based on submitted documents
  • Making observations in the class
  • On-site document checking with on-site full inspection
